Who has inspired you in your life and why?

가장 먼저 떠오른 대답은 “Everything around me inspires me 였다.

I find inspiration from interacting with other people or the surrounding environment.
I recently read a comment on a Youtube video. It was saying that “I love this creator and would love to invest in this channel if I can.”. Maybe this commentator just wanted to express one’s affection to the creator. However, this gave inspiration to me. It has made me imagine a platform, enabling the public to invest in youtube creators who have few subscribers. So that creators can focus on delivering valuable content to people while investors can share profit with them.
Since I don’t brush off things even it is trivial to others, I guess I could imagine new and creative services that can offer positive values.

Paul Polak

The person who has most greatly inspired me has been Paul Polak.
Paul was one of the leading voices in social enterprise. Not only about social values, but also I could learn the power and principles of business from his market-based approach to solve the poverty problem.
In 2019, during the university summer festival, my friends and I were selling chocolate bananas for a project fundraising to support one of the poorest regions in Uganda. Even though our intention was great, it didn’t sell well.
So, as Paul emphasized listening from customers as the first principle, I interviewed a few customers.
I could find that the decoration and package of the product weren’t satisfying. Therefore, I suggested a new packing style utilizing the existing package without purchasing new materials. This strategy worked well, and we could achieve the target fundraising amount.

The person who has most greatly inspired me has been Paul Polak.
Paul used economic principles and market strategy to eradicate poverty at the bottom of the pyramid.
I was fascinated by how a business generates positive impacts on our society and how he made the business move. Since I wanted to become a person who changes the world into a better place, he provided strong motivation and how.
One of his principles was to listen to as many customers as before you start a business. I tried this when I participated in an income-increasing project in Uganda. I interviewed many local people and community leaders. By interviewing them, I could understand the situation and cultural characteristics of the target village enough. Also, It helped me to set an appropriate strategy for the project.
